AccessCNY was created to meet the unmet needs of the community and 75 years later the agency is innovating again. Today, the mental health needs of children are at a crisis point and AccessCNY is ready to meet the need.

In 2024 AccessCNY will break ground on a $5.1 million, eight bedroom Children’s Mental Health Center. The program will serve kids from 11 to 17 with a mental health or dual diagnoses who have been boarding in the hospital. Our Children’s Mental Health Center will provided continued site-based support for children who require transitional care prior to returning home.

Services Provided

• Residential Stays at the center will support children in need of immediate mental health support. The home is a transitional location to keep kids in crisis out of the hospital or an emergency room. Kids stay up to 120 days to work on their mental health with the goal of being reunited with their family.
• Intensive Case Management to assess the child and family’s needs, to build skills and create connections to ongoing supports and services that ensure long term success.
• Sensory Gym & Garden will serve as places for physical outlets and to help manage those who are struggling with behavior regulation.
• Counseling Spaces for individual and group sessions to facilitate mental wellness, promote self-esteem and increase feeling of security and independence.
