DSP Appreciation Program- Michael Scriven
Michael Scriven
Though all of AccessCNY’s Direct Support Professionals are talented, Michael Scriven has something that few others do- 15 years of experience. In his long history of being a DSP, Michael has acquired a wealth of knowledge and skills that he uses to benefit the members of the David Clark Learning Center (DCLC) on a daily basis.
However, it is not only his wealth of experience that sets Michael apart from the crowd. As the unofficial “music man” at the DCLC, Michael plays an integral role in helping the center fulfill its mission of using art and music to help individuals with acquired brain injuries enhance their memory and cognitive ability. For example, this week he is hard at work editing and enhancing songs that the participants recently recorded. Luckily, for Michael, these efforts are a labor of love. He states that his favorite part of his job is getting to experience the power of music to help people.
Want to stop by and see Michael in action? Come to the David Clark Learning Center’s 1 year anniversary celebration! You will be able to meet participants of the DCLC and hear the tracks Michael worked so hard to help them produce! Make sure that you thank him for all that he does!
