Community Oriented Recovery & Empowerment (CORE) Services

AccessCNY’s Community Oriented Recovery and Empowerment (CORE) services help individuals with a serious mental health and/or substance use disorders to meet their recovery goals, such as finding a job, going to school, socializing or living more independently.

CORE Services for Adults

Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR)

Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) services help individuals with a mental health diagnosis set personal goals and develop the skills, supports and resources they need to achieve them. With the support of AccessCNY staff, PSR participants can learn and improve on skills such as financial literacy, stress management and medication management.

Family Support and Training (FST)

AccessCNY’s Family Support and Training program (FST) provides compassionate, trauma informed education and emotional support to families of people with a mental health diagnosis. Our goal is to empower families with the knowledge and skills needed to support their loved ones.

Services can be provided to family with or without the presence of their loved one, as long as their loved one consents.

Peer Support/Empowerment Services

Peer support/empowerment services give participants the opportunity to receive support from someone who has “been in their shoes.” With the assistance of a specially trained peer, participants learn and apply life skills such as managing money and making friends.
